His Holiness the Dalai Lama sends condolences to the passing of the Supreme Patriarch of Sri Lanka Amarapura Nikaya

Message on the Passing away of the Chief Prelate of the Amarapura Maha Nikaya, Most Venerable Dodampahala Chandrasiri Thero of Sri Lanka

I am saddened to hear about the passing away of the Most Venerable Dodampahala Chandrasiri Mahanayake Thero, the Supreme Patriach of Amarapura Maha Nikaya of Sri Lanka, at the age of 84. My prayers for our spiritual brother and send my condolences to his many followers.

I understand that our senior spiritual brother lived a meaningful life, devoted himself to the service of others. A fitting tribute that we can pay him is to follow in his steps to serve others with loving kindness.
