Guru Padmasambhava, an erudite Bhikku who lived in the 8th century, hailed from Kashmir. He journeyed to the renowned Nalanda University to learn Buddhism Sand subsequently played a pivotal role in introducing Buddhism to Tibet. Due to his significant contributions, Tibetans revere Guru Padmasambhava as a figure on par with the Buddha himself, attributing to him the profound merit of bringing Buddhism to their land.
