A DROP OF DHAMMA FOR BURNING SOULS

LAUNCH OF SATHIPATTANA BUDDHIST EDUCATIONAL MAGAZINE

Sathipattana Buddhist magazine which is published quarterly by the Buddhist Brotherhood with the intention of educating the Buddhist community of the accurate principles of Buddhism was launched on the Vesak Full Moon Poya Day in the historic Chapter House of Malwathu Maha Viharaya in the sacred land of the holy Tooth Relic, Kandy. The first copy of the magazine was offered to Most Venerable Dr. Dimbulkumbure Wimaladhamma Thero, the Venerable Anunayake Thero of Malwathu Maha Viharaya by the Chairman of the Buddhist Brotherhood and the co-author of Sathipattana magazine Dr. Damenda Porage.

Among the objectives of the magazine, eliminating the misconceptions relating to Buddhism, spreading the accurate words of the Buddha, educating the Bhikkus and Bhikkunis of the principles of Buddhism are notable.

While imparting knowledge of Buddhism, the magazine also aims to create social dialogues of issues which are subjected to verification with regard to the Dhamma preached by the Buddha. Since Buddhism has faced many threats from within the Buddha Sasana as well from the outside world, it is high time to come forward to protect the immaculate Dhamma of the Buddha which helps the Buddhist immensely in ending the sorrowful cycle of Samsara and to attain the supreme bliss of Nirvana at the end.

It is believed that the Buddhists in Sri Lanka be guided and immensely benefited by this magazine.
